Keith Courage was the initial US TurboGrafx-16 pack-in title. The title screen had flash and striking music that was all hook. There was something about sliding the Hu-Card lock for the first time and experiencing the Keith Courage title blast onto the screen that was truly amazing. It was a new age!
Notable at the time was the games speed and sprite size - big things were moving all over the screen, and it felt fast, really fast. The sword action felt great and sounded even better. Remember those glowing spikes, that was a significant advancement in game graphics.
Due to the lack of background graphics in some areas and the lack of credits at the end of the game, I get the impression that this title was possibly rushed through production and treated as a sort of Alan Smithee by the development team.
Does anyone out there have the TurboGrafx-16 Keith Courage commercial?
